POLICIES & GOVERNANCE

Our Governing Documents

How the school is governed

Murray MacDougall School operates under Triangle Limited, with a school governance structure that oversees academic standards, safeguarding, health and safety, and day-to-day administration. Our policies exist to keep every pupil safe, ensure fair and consistent decision-making, and set out clear expectations for pupils, parents and staff alike.

Formal policy documents, including our Child Protection Policy, Health & Safety Policy, Code of Conduct, Admissions Policy and Governance Structure, are currently being prepared for publication on this page. In the meantime, parents and guardians are welcome to request any policy document directly from the school office.

Raising A Concern

Grievance Procedure

We take every concern seriously and aim to resolve issues fairly, promptly and respectfully.

01

Speak to the Class Teacher

Most concerns about day-to-day school life are best raised first with your child's class teacher, either in person, by phone, or in writing. Many issues can be resolved quickly at this stage.

02

Escalate in Writing

If the concern is not resolved, or is more serious in nature, parents or guardians should put the concern in writing and submit it to the Head of School for formal review.

03

Formal Review

The Head will investigate the matter, which may include speaking to relevant staff, pupils or parents, and will respond in writing within a reasonable timeframe with the outcome and any action to be taken.

04

Further Escalation

If a parent or guardian remains unsatisfied after a formal response from the Head, the matter may be escalated to the school's governing body under Triangle Limited for further review.

05

Confidentiality

All grievances are handled with discretion. Information is shared only with those who need to be involved in resolving the matter.

06

No Victimisation

Raising a genuine concern in good faith will never negatively affect a pupil's standing, treatment, or opportunities at the school.
